We serve mainly a young population, many of whom come from other cultures, especially African and Eastern European. There is a good socio-economic mix of all classes here and the birthrate is one of the highest in Britain.
Our team includes 7 GP partners, of whom 3 are currently GP trainers. We also have 3 salaried doctors, 2 nurse practitioners and a practice based nurse team including practice nurses, district nurses and health visitors. We have an excellent reception and admin team led by Christine Fenton, our Practice Manager.
The practice provides a wide range of services including chronic disease management clinics and antenatal care. Other services in the Health Centre include physiotherapy, chiropody, a dental practice and a pharmacy.
We have always been a training practice and supportive of educational and research activity. Educational meetings are held every Monday lunchtime and GP trainees are encouraged to contribute or lead on them.
Our medical records are comprehensive, fully summarised and computerised on the EMIS system. We offer a range of additional clinics including family planning, baby clinics, diabetes and asthma. We are a friendly, supportive team meeting every day informally over coffee to offload after morning surgery and chat. We also hold weekly primary healthcare team meetings.
